Five Young Writers, Five 10 Minute Plays
Five stories inspired by this year's theme 'Flight'

REHEARSED READINGS FROM THE PARTICIPANTS IN OUR YOUNG WRITERS PROGRAMME

ALL POINTS NORTH
by Amanda Finch
When everything you love is destroyed, what do you do?
When home is the scene of a nightmare, where do you go? When real life is
terrifying, how do you rebuild your memories? Who do you trust? How do you
survive? Who are you?

DECADENT DOLL
by Paul Sloan
"I love it when we do what we do til we do what we do til it's done" -
Famous words sung by Ronan Keating, but do we really love what we do or do
we do what we do out of nothing more than guilt or obligation?

MADNESS IN MIND
by Laura O'Connor
Clarisse is alone, embittered and suffering from humiliation. Her mother's
overbearing nature only fuels her cataclysmic decision making, and her
idealised brother proves disappointing. Alone, she desperately seeks a way
out - and finding none, takes extreme measures.

THE TICKING CLOCK
by Samuel Steele
When Greg's parents die he realises that he has been living for them instead
of himself. When Sarah, his workmate and friend, asks him out for a drink he
must choose whether to take up the offer and start having fun or to stay in
his ordinary, simple life.

IMAGO
by James Johnson
A sex addict decides to give up on his addiction by finding a female friend.
One afternoon he picks a lonely girl sat in a park called Betty, but she has
problems of her own. Newly orphaned and mid adolescence she hasn't anyone to
tell her the difference between right and wrong.
